Bill Washburn brings 25 years of wide-ranging experience in the energy industry to the Enerdynamics team. Bill received his formal education in sociology and business, putting this expertise into several industry solutions. His broad ranging experience extends into all aspects of the energy business: regulated and unregulated, electricity and natural gas, wholesale and retail, bundled and unbundled, and investor-owned and municipal utilities. He also has extensive expertise with all types of utility gas and electric rates, as well as wholesale market dynamics. His resume includes positions in companies ranging in size from Fortune 100 to small startup companies. Bill began his energy career at Pacific Gas & Electric Company, working in marketing, electric rates, electric resource supply, gas pricing, and customer relations management. He counts restructuring California’s agricultural electric rates, establishing California’s first natural gas vehicle refueling station, and the negotiation of 13 generation alternative DSM bids as some of his significant successes.
He last held the position of Director Market Planning and Strategy for PG&E’s at risk gas business and the unit exceeded revenue and margin targets every year. Following his tenure at PG&E, Mr. Washburn worked for New Energy Ventures culminating his service as President of NEV California. Subsequently, he took the position of Western Region Manager for Duke Solutions North American operations. When Duke Solutions exited the energy markets, Bill shifted into a full-time consulting role, counting utility.com, Tokyo Gas, Carolina Power & Light, Florida Power, Brooklyn Union Gas, Sempra Energy, and Clark County (Las Vegas) Nevada among his clients. Bill has a B.A. in Sociology from Chapman University and an MBA from the University of California.
