As noted in a recent Oracle Utilities blog, utility management discussions about workforce needs is transitioning from the need to replace an aging workforce to the need to create an agile innovative workforce:

And how does a company become digital-first? As a utility learning professional you may be surprised to learn that you have a critical role in leading the transformation. Oracle Utilities recently released a Digital Utility Maturity Assessment to help utilities understand where to focus their efforts. Questions covered billing, customer conversations, addressing customer issues, training your team, business processes, field crew processes, field crew communication, data management, and technology used in daily business. Discussing the topic of training, Oracle suggests a continuum that leads to a digitally mature focus.
