Enerdynamics Releases New Version of Best-Selling Electric Book
by John Ferrare, Enerdynamics CEO
It's here! Enerdynamics just released the 2019 version of its best-selling book, Understanding Today’s Electricity Business. Now in its 7th edition, the book was originally published in
2004 and has helped train thousands of industry employees on the basics of the electric industry. Topics covered within the book's 245 pages include the major industry players, regulation, the various deregulated market structures, the physical electric system and how it's operated, market dynamics, how industry players make money and manage risk, and much more.
Why seven editions in 15 years? Quite simply, the industry has changed – at times dramatically. To start, the book is packed with charts and data that change over time. Whether it’s the number of commercial customers, average cost of electricity by state, the U.S. generation mix, or monthly consumption of electricity, our latest edition contains the most current available data throughout.
But data is not the only thing that changes. Throughout the years we’ve added additional information on renewables and, most recently, distributed generation. The book also now addresses Demand Side Management as an alternative to electric generation, changing environmental considerations, electric storage, zero-carbon generation, the changing role of system operations, and how markets are changing to accommodate increased distributed resources.
The book retails for $79.95, but discounts start at 25 books. The book can be purchased through our website, or for bulk sales contact John Ferrare at 866-765-5432 ext. 700 or jferrare@enerdynamics.com.
